Rakesh Gangwani Promoted to Senior Vice President, Strategy and President, Industrial Solutions at Atmus

Atmus is pleased to announce the promotion of Rakesh Gangwani to Senior Vice President, Strategy and President, Industrial Solutions. In this role, he will continue to be responsible for our efforts to drive innovation, explore new business opportunities and expand into industrial filtration markets to diversify our business and unlock growth opportunities. Alongside this strategic work, Rakesh leads our corporate communications and marketing function. 

Effective immediately, Rakesh will take on the responsibility of leading our new Industrial Solutions segment. This segment will consist of the Koch Filter business and team. Leveraging the deep industry experience, product portfolio and customer focus of the Koch Filter team, Rakesh will have accountability for the financial and commercial performance of the business.  

With a career spanning over 20 years, Rakesh has extensive business, strategy and finance experience, and has demonstrated expertise in driving business growth through strategic initiatives, joint ventures and mergers and acquisitions. Previously, Rakesh served as our Executive Director of Sales, Marketing and Product Management. During this time, he was responsible for sales through both original equipment and aftermarket channels, and our portfolio of fluids, which included a global partnership with Valvoline. Rakesh also oversaw product management during this time, where he developed product strategies and long-term business plans to drive profitable growth.  

From 2010 to 2021, Rakesh held various, progressive positions with Cummins Inc., spanning business development and general management positions. Through these career experiences, Rakesh developed critical business acumen to support negotiations, relationship building and management and strategic planning, which resulted in successful customer relationships, joint venture partnerships, Board of Directors engagements and acquisitions.  

Rakesh is a people-focused leader, prioritizing the growth and development of his team members. Throughout his career, he has coached and mentored members of his teams. As executive sponsor of our Atmus Latin American Inclusion and Growth Network (ALIGN) employee resource group, he understands the role that building an inclusive culture plays in the employee growth journey. He is a collaborative and caring leader who champions our learning-oriented culture.

Rakesh holds a Bachelor of Engineering, Mechanical Engineering from the NED University of Engineering and Tech School of Engineering in Pakistan and a Master of Business Administration from the University of Indianapolis School of Business in Indiana (U.S.). Outside of work, he serves as a member of the Board of Directors for WFYI Public Media, and actively volunteers at Grassroot Projects, a nonprofit organization committed to empowering disadvantaged children from low income/immigrant/refugee families in the U.S., founded by his wife, Priya.
